- _n_e_t_p_r_i_n_t sends a print request to a printer on another host. _n_e_t_p_r_i_n_t is
- used in the lp model file /_v_a_r/_s_p_o_o_l/_l_p/_m_o_d_e_l/_n_e_t_f_a_c_e to submit lp print
- jobs to remote printers.
-
-
- UUUUSSSSAAAAGGGGEEEE
- ----wwww Wait for job to complete on remote host before exiting. This
- is how _n_e_t_p_r_i_n_t is normally used in an lp model file. If
- _n_e_t_p_r_i_n_t does not wait then as soon as it returns the lp
- spooler will process the next print job and send the files to
- the print server (possibly causing the print server to run out
- of disk space when files are sent to the print server faster
- then they can be printed). The -w option "syncs" the client
- print spooler to the print server to help reduce the chance of
- a print server running out of disk space.
-
-
- ----vvvv Specifies verbose output for debugging purposes.
-
-
- ----nnnn _n_e_t-_t_y_p_e
- Name of dso to use to communicate with remote system. Valid
- names for _n_e_t-_t_y_p_e are found in the file
- /_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_p_r_i_n_t/_n_e_t_d_s_o/_D_S_O_L_I_S_T. Each dso implements the
- functions necessary to communicate with the remote system (the
- bsd dso communicates using the BSD LPR protocols, etc).
-
-
- ----hhhh _h_o_s_t Hostname or IP address of the remote system to submit the print
- job too.
-
-
- ----pppp _p_r_i_n_t_e_r
- Print spooler name on the remote host to submit the print job
- too.
-
-
- ----tttt _c_o_n_v_e_r_t-_t_y_p_e
- _c_o_n_v_e_r_t-_t_y_p_e specifies a file type to convert the files to
- before they are sent to the remote spooler. _R_O_U_T_E_P_R_I_N_T(_1) is
- used to do the file conversion. See the _R_O_U_T_E_P_R_I_N_T(_1) man page
- for more information on conversion types.

- _r_e_q_u_e_s_t-_i_d
- lp spooler request id. This is used to determine the files to
- be sent to the remote system. This is the only way to specify
- files to print using _n_e_t_p_r_i_n_t.
